Roma are close to finalizing the deal for Daniele Ghilardi from Hellas Verona.

The player, captain of the Italian Under-21 national team, has been identified by Frederic Massara and Gian Piero Gasperini as the ideal candidate to strengthen the defence.

According to Angelo Mangiante of Sky Sport, negotiations between the two clubs are at an advanced stage.

Among the options on the table is the inclusion of Luigi Cherubini as a technical counterpart.
