Danilo demands improvement after Flamengo’s Recopa loss, calls for shared responsibility | OneFootball

Flamengo defender Danilo spoke after Thursday’s Recopa Sudamericana defeat to Argentine side Lanús at the Maracanã.

"Everyone must take responsibility. There were physical, technical and performance aspects. Everyone must take responsibility, because that is how it works at a big club," he told ESPN.

It was Flamengo’s second trophy to slip away in 2026, having lost the Supercopa do Brasil to Corinthians in early February.

"This is a difficult moment. We have to keep our heads down, the fans are right. Expectations for this team are high and are not being met, that is on us."

"The fans are right to protest, we have to keep our heads down and work. Strong, big players work to get out of this situation, now it is time for us to prove the size of our group as a team and as players."

Attention now turns to the Campeonato Carioca, with the second leg of the semi-finals against Madureira on Monday. Flamengo won the first leg 3-0 and can lose by up to two goals and still advance to the final.
