Danilo hails Flamengo 2026 recruit Vitão after Corinthians draw | OneFootball

Flamengo drew 1-1 with Corinthians at the Neo Química Arena in the Brasileirão. According to Coluna Do Fla, Danilo praised new signing Vitão after the match.

The centre-back was the club's first reinforcement of the 2026 season, recruited to bolster the back line. Since arriving he has been part of a rotation, and across eight appearances has partnered every available centre-back.

Against Corinthians he started alongside Danilo, then went off late with cramp and was replaced by Léo Ortiz.

Danilo said Vitão is very humble, has a big future and had helped him significantly in defence. He accepted the goal conceded was avoidable, and added that it is good to enjoy the environment of playing for Flamengo.

Flamengo face Red Bull Bragantino on 02 April in round nine of the Brasileirão, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time in Bragança Paulista.
