Dante returns to Bayern as reserve team head coach | OneFootball

According to BuLi News, Dante has been appointed head coach of Bayern Munich’s reserve team after ending his playing career at OGC Nice.

The Brazilian, who played for Bayern between 2012 and 2015, replaces Holger Seitz and begins his first coaching job at Säbener Straße.

Dante said he is incredibly excited to return and thanked the management for their trust, noting the Campus produces many talented youngsters who must first prove themselves in senior football with the reserves.

He added that his staff aim to guide those players through that step and help bring them closer to professional football, and that he looks forward to working with the squad, staff and management.

Director of youth development Jochen Sauer thanked Seitz for his work and said internal discussions led Bayern to seek a young coach with top level playing experience for their oldest youth side.

Sauer praised Dante’s attitude and professionalism, saying he remained a role model at Nice at 42 and that his mindset convinced them. He also highlighted Dante’s major contribution to Bayern’s 2013 treble, calling the appointment an even better fit for everyone involved.
