Darren Moore sacked by Port Vale | OneFootball

Port Vale have sacked manager Darren Moore with the Valiants rock bottom of League One going into 2026.

Moore initially took over at the club midway through the 2023/24 season but was unable to keep the club in League One. 

Port Vale finished second the following season in League Two under Moore but now look like they will once again be in the third as they sit bottom of the table with just 15 points from 21 games. That poor form has resulted in the end of Moore's tenure at the club.

"This has been a difficult decision and one we haven't taken lightly, but we believe now is the right moment to make a change," the club said in a statement.

"We have given the situation time and support to ensure we were doing everything to give this project the best possible chance of success, and while we truly hoped it would turn, we must act in what we believe is the best long-term interest of Port Vale."

The Valiants are back in action on Monday when they travel to face Bradford City.
