Daryl Dike’s four-and-a-half-year stay at West Brom could be over after Saturday’s final game against Sheffield Wednesday, with his contract due to expire this summer.
The player said in an Instagram post that he thanked Albion supporters for backing him through a difficult season and signed off by looking ahead to what comes next.
His time at the club has been blighted by injuries, beginning with a setback on his home debut. He has had a string of problems, including two major Achilles injuries that kept him out for almost two years combined.
This season he battled back to make 25 appearances, only the second time he has reached that mark since joining. He scored important goals against Preston and Watford and helped Albion secure Championship survival.
As things stand he may have played his last game for the club. Interim boss James Morrison has been coy on out-of-contract players, and Albion are expected to confirm their released and retained list soon.
