David Albelda’s surreal moment at the barber’s | OneFootball

David Albelda had a surreal moment at the barber’s when the stylist initially failed to recognise him. The La Pobla Llarga native later recounted the lighthearted exchange on his social media.

According to Superdeporte, the barber, known on Instagram as ‘El Rey de las Barbas’ and followed by more than 60,000 people, posted a video on Monday explaining what happened.

Chatting as he would with any customer, the barber asked Albelda what he did for a living. Albelda replied that he is a football coach.

Intrigued, the barber pressed on, asking how he had become a coach. Albelda said he had played for Valencia in his day.

Out of humility, he did not add that he is one of the club’s greatest legends. That was the moment the penny dropped for the man with the clippers.
