According to Superdeporte, Spain under-21 coach David Gordo has praised Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra after his inclusion in the senior support list for the 2026 World Cup, adding he is convinced the player will become a regular for the national team.
Speaking at Mestalla during the ninth VCF Schools Clinic, Gordo highlighted Guerra’s outstanding talent and his character, crediting the Valencia academy’s work. He expressed delight at the midfielder’s progress and voiced hope that he will break into the senior side before long.
The confidence in Guerra is shared across Spain’s set-up, not only by senior coach Luis de la Fuente.
Valencia have begun planning for 2026/27 with a clear stance that nobody is indispensable. Head coach Carlos Corberán is prepared to allow departures for any contracted player who wishes to leave and arrives with a suitable offer, inviting honest conversations.
Guerra is not in that bracket. He feels settled at the club, has no intention of leaving this summer and remains committed. After stepping up late in the campaign, Corberán rewarded him with starts and continuity and for now he is a key part of the new project, even if the market can change plans.
