David Ornstein: Liverpool Strong Contenders to Sign Bundesliga Forward

Liverpool’s summer transfer plans are starting to gather pace. The Reds have already agreed a deal to sign Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes for £60m when the window opens.

Earlier today, it was reported that the club had agreed a deal to sign 17-year-old South American wonderkid Samuel Martinez from Atletico Nacional.

And now, David Ornstein has dropped a major update on the club’s next move.

With Mohamed Salah confirming he will leave at the end of the season, a new forward is a priority for Arne Slot’s side. PSG’s Bradley Barcola and RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande have been strongly linked, and there is seemingly movement on the latter of those names…

Liverpool in ‘Strong Position’ for Yan Diomande

According to David Ornstein, Liverpool are moving quick in their attempts to sign 19-year-old forward Yan Diomande.

“Yan Diomande a leading target for Liverpool. PSG also among suitors but #LFC firm contenders; strong position with 19yo RB Leipzig winger & if player deal looks doable club-to-club talks will follow.”

“RB Leipzig would seek €100m+ to sell.”

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Bundesliga since his £18m move from Leganes last summer.

Diomande has managed thirteen goals and ten assists across all competitions so far this season.
