Napoli are still searching for a long-term replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who left the club in the winter transfer window. One player they’ve reportedly shown interest in is Alejandro Garnacho.
The 20-year-old’s future seemed up in the air during the January transfer window as INEOS worked to balance the club’s finances. Napoli showed interest, and the Serie A giants were close to finalizing a deal with United, but they ultimately chose not to meet the Argentine’s wage demands.
Since then, Garnacho has worked his way back into Amorim’s lineup after being dropped for the Manchester Derby win over Manchester City in December. However, he could still be one of the players to leave at the end of the season as part of a major squad overhaul.

The Athletic‘s David Ornstein provided an update on Garnacho’s situation, as the Argentine could be leaving this summer.
“Yes, we understand this to be highly possible – if proposals are deemed suitable by Man Utd and Garnacho himself. As we know, exits for the likes of (Marcus) Rashford, (Jadon) Sancho, Antony, (Tyrell) Malacia, Casemiro and (Rasmus) Hojlund are also plausible, while the salaries of (Christian) Eriksen and (Victor) Lindelof will leave the wage bill.”
Recently, Calciomercato reported that Napoli remain determined to sign Garnacho this summer after their January bid for the Manchester United winger was turned down.
