Real Madrid assistant manager Davide Ancelotti has confirmed that Kylian Mbappé has issued an apology to the rest of the club’s squad.
This, of course, comes fresh off an evening to forget for the Frenchman.
Real Madrid marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to Mendizorroza for a La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alavés.
En route to a hard-fought 1-0 victory for Los Blancos, however, one sour note was forthcoming late in the first-half.
This came after the aforementioned Mbappé was given his marching orders, by way of a red card.
After the 26-year-old’s high challenge on Antonio Blanco was sent to VAR, it quickly became evident that Mbappé had been responsible for nothing short of a horror challenge.
And as alluded to above, the attacker himself is evidently fully aware of just how out of line he was with his actions on Sunday evening.
Speaking to the media in his post-match press conference, Davide Ancelotti – who stepped in for suspended father Carlo at Mendizorroza – admitted:
“Kylian Mbappé? A clear red. He apologised, he’s not a violent guy. He understands what he did. All the fouls he received made him react that way.”
