Serie A giants Milan have been struggling for many weeks now and find themselves in the battle for the Champions League. Now, it is Davide Ancelotti who has expressed his desire to manage the Rossoneri.

As things stand, Vincenzo Italiano appears to be the leading candidate to potentially replace Max Allegri. The ex-Juve boss’ future is uncertain and there is a serious risk of a departure even if Milan qualify for the Champions League.

Ancelotti, meanwhile, spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport and was asked about his childhood and how he grew up as a Milan fan.

He revealed how his father gave him a first-team debut during a friendly, even if it didn’t lead to anything special in his playing days.

“A midfielder like my dad, who even let me play a few minutes in a friendly with AC Milan against Dynamo Kiev. It was Pato’s first match for the Rossoneri, and I got a telling off from Valerio Fiori for a suicidal back pass that forced him out of the goal.”

The younger Ancelotti revealed having broken down in tears after Milan beat Boca Juniors in the Club World Cup final of 2007.

“Before embarking on this career, a lot. I’m not ashamed to say that as a fan I cried in Yokohama after the defeat against Boca.”

Further, Ancelotti revealed being open to managing Milan at some point.

“Sure, and I feel ready to do it too.”

It feels more like a fantasy or a dream that Ancelotti has and would love to accomplish. He is yet to do much in his own career as a first-team manager, which makes a big jump to Milan unlikely, for now.
