Barcelona will entertain Real Sociedad at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Sunday evening as they look to secure a positive result in La Liga. The Catalan club managed to earn a 3-1 victory over Oviedo recently, which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.

Hansi Flick will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this contest. Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski, and Andreas Christensen could all play from the start of this game.

Defence

Joan Garcia will feature in between the sticks for the Catalan club after conceding one goal in his last appearance. Ronald Araujo will function alongside Andreas Christensen at the heart of the Barcelona backline as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the game.

Frenkie de Jong and Pedri will anchor the midfield for Barcelona as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Marcus Rashford, Dani Olmo and Raphinha will play just ahead of them as part of Flick’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if the Catalan club are to secure a convincing win this weekend.

Marc Bernal and Roony Bardghji will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the Catalan giants up top. He would be hungry to find the back of the net after being rested in midweek.
