Spain coach Luis de la Fuente praised Oyarzabal, called him world class and urged supporters to enjoy him, while adding that in time he could become a very good coach. According to Diario Vasco, the Spain manager again highlighted the forward's qualities.

Speaking after the meeting with Serbia, he opened his news conference by referring to suggestions the team lacked a 'killer' in the box.

He said people in Spain often struggle to recognise their own.

He stressed that Oyarzabal is at world level and should be appreciated.
