Luis de la Fuente has announced Spain’s squad for March friendlies against Serbia and Egypt, the final camp before the World Cup 2026 list.
According to Superdeporte, Mosquera, now at Arsenal, receives his first senior call and Carlos Soler is recalled.
The RFEF’s move aims to secure Mosquera for Spain amid rising interest from Colombia. A youth international mainstay, he has long favoured La Roja, and his Arsenal form has pushed his case.
Soler’s last Spain appearance came in the Qatar 2022 round-of-16 defeat in December 2022. Strong displays with Real Sociedad have reopened the door.
The March list features five Valencians in total, Mosquera, Soler, Alejandro Grimaldo, Pablo Fornals and Ferran Torres.
De la Fuente keeps regular goalkeepers Unai Simón, David Raya and Álex Remiro, and calls Barcelona’s Joan García to the senior squad for the first time.
Injuries rule out Mikel Merino, Fabián Ruiz, Pablo Barrios, Nico Williams and Samu Aghehowa. Compared to November, Dani Vivian and Aleix García miss out, and Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand are not recalled.
New faces include Real Sociedad midfielder Barrenetxea and Osasuna winger Víctor Muñoz. Rodri Hernández, Pedri and Lamine Yamal return from injury, while Marcos Llorente and Pablo Fornals keep their places and strengthen World Cup claims.
After the cancelled Finalissima against Argentina in Qatar, Spain host Serbia in Villarreal on Friday 27 March, then face Egypt in Barcelona on Monday 30 March.
