De Marcos to join Terzic backroom team at Athletic Club | OneFootball

According to El Correo, Edin Terzić is finalising his backroom staff for his Athletic Club bow. Sebastian Geppert and Peter Gaydarov are already working at Lezama, and the latest addition is Óscar de Marcos.

Geppert will serve as assistant and lead analysis, while Gaydarov will oversee training and player transition in Lezama.

The 42-year-old German is Terzić’s right-hand man, having worked as his assistant across two seasons at Borussia Dortmund. He spent 10 years at the club, including eight in the academy, developing players who went on to feature at Signal Iduna Park.

Gaydarov, 35, arrives from Bayern Munich, where he coached the U-19s and the club’s Youth League side this season. He had six years at Bayern after an earlier spell in youth development at Nuremberg.

After 16 seasons and three titles with Athletic, Óscar de Marcos is the club’s second-highest appearance-maker with 573, behind Jose Angel Iribar. Requested by Terzić, the former captain becomes an assistant focused on player development and dressing-room connection, his first staff role at 37, one year after retiring.
