Deadline day is gathering pace across the Midlands, with Wolves chasing multiple deals, Albion weighing up a boardroom change, and Villa expected to keep calm before the seven pm cut-off.
ExpressAndStar.com reports that Wolves are moving closer to Angel Gomes from Marseille, with a medical planned this morning and hopes of concluding a deal later. A double striker push is possible, with former Blues and Southampton forward Che Adams at Torino linked after an offer of eight million pounds was submitted and the player is keen to return to England. The Adam Armstrong move is set to go ahead.
Exit-wise, there are still questions around Emmanuel Agbadou, and it looks as though Jorgen Strand Larsen is heading to Palace. Further late bids for others cannot be ruled out.
For Albion, the biggest development could be off the pitch, with Andrew Nestor set to depart and strong links to Dominic Price, currently at Maccabi Tel Aviv and formerly of Liverpool. Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba, sold for one million pounds a few years ago, looks set to return on loan.
Villa supporters should not expect much drama. Unai Emery has ruled out deadline-day business and says their incomings are over. Any late shift would be via departures.
Walsall have enjoyed a fruitful window. Whether another addition arrives remains to be seen, but there is satisfaction with the work done.
