It is no longer a rarity for current professionals or ex-players to buy clubs as part of a group of investors, and now two former FC Bayern stars appear to be on the verge of such a deal
These are Mats Hummels and Thomas Müller. Hummels has now ended his career, while Müller still plays in the MLS, more precisely for the Vancouver Whitecaps. Both are acting as experts at the upcoming World Cup and are part of the Magenta TV team
Here they will also meet Jürgen Klopp, who is also part of the prominent team
But back to the plans surrounding the club purchase: Müller and Hummels want to take over the Portuguese club Estrela Amadora together with ex-Bayern keeper Yann Sommer and a group of investors, as BILD has learned

The team was almost relegated last season, but now the plan is to turn things around. Müller, Hummels & co. intend to structure the club in such a way that young talents are always given a chance and developed further. This will also drive forward the general development of the team
According to the report, the medium-term goal is for the club to establish itself in the top 8 in Portugal and play a good role in the local league. Hummels, Müller & co. are expected to be important contacts with their expertise
Although the deal has not yet been finalised, talks between all parties are ongoing. It is not known how much the purchase will ultimately cost, but in principle it should not fail due to financial reasons. It is possible that a deal will be announced in the coming days or weeks, which would be ideal in order to prepare for the new season in peace and in as coordinated a manner as possible.
