Gerónimo Rulli set the tone in the seventh minute with a low save, underpinning Marseille's 1-0 win at Le Havre. The Argentina goalkeeper's handling and positioning preserved the lead once Les Phocéens went ahead.
He read the early danger well, getting down to Samatta's angled effort (7.). From there he stayed tidy with his feet and assured with his starting positions, ready for balls clipped in behind.
Before the interval he held a close-range header from the centre (31.). Les Olympiens then went in front from the spot after VAR confirmed the decision (55.), and Rulli's command of his box became the platform for game management.
His biggest moment after the break came when he blocked Issa Soumaré's central header (71.). He finished with two saves, one high claim and 19 accurate passes from 28, evidence of safe hands and calm build-up when Le Havre chased with 16 crosses.
Because Le Havre relied on direct deliveries and shots from inside the area, his positioning and clean handling kept them at arm's length and ensured Les Phocéens controlled the key phases once ahead.
Les Phocéens rise from seventh to sixth and host Rennes next. Le Havre visit Lorient next.
How high would you rate Rulli's performance tonight?
