Even though the summer transfer window is still some way away, FC Barcelona believe this is the right moment to advance planning for next season.

The needs in the squad have been identified for weeks, and following several meetings with Hansi Flick, the roadmap is beginning to take shape.

Deco flies to London

Now, according to SPORT, Deco travelled to London on Tuesday for a series of meetings aimed at progressing the club’s sporting plans.

Although Barcelona have prioritised targets such as Alessandro Bastoni and Julian Alvarez, the club is working on alternative options in case any of these deals do not materialise.

The sporting department is keeping multiple avenues open, with constant activity, even if final decisions have not yet been made.

These have been particularly demanding weeks for the sporting director, who has had little rest and is working at full capacity with a schedule packed with strategic meetings.

The aim is to stay fully informed about all opportunities in the market and to anticipate key moves that could strengthen the squad.

This very morning, for example, he received Miguel Pinho, head of the AS1 agency and widely regarded as one of the most influential agents in Portugal.

The meeting, beyond any immediate deals, serves to strengthen relationships and open new avenues of collaboration for the future.

It is worth noting that Deco has a strong relationship with the agency, having already attempted to sign Luis Diaz last summer and maintained constant contact with its representatives.

After completing solid work in renewing key players and strengthening the backbone of the team, Deco now faces a greater challenge: his first major transfer window, with Barcelona expected to have plenty of spending power, unlike recent seasons.
