Defeat to Flamengo ends Corinthians’ winning run in third kit debuts

Corinthians returned to the field for the Brazilian Championship on Sunday night, 28th, hosting Flamengo at the Neo Química Arena in a match for the 25th round of the competition. After a series of offensive mistakes in the first half, including a penalty missed by Yuri Alberto, the Alvinegro opened the scoring early in the second half with the number 9, but ended up losing the lead, losing 2 x 1.

The defeat was the first recorded by the team in debuts of number 3 uniforms since 2021. In the last three years, the Alvinegro had scored three victories, all at the Neo Química Arena, with the shirts that paid tribute to the World Cup win in Japan (2022), the Corinthian Democracy (2023) and the anti-racist struggle (2024).

The last defeat occurred in 2021, with the "Respect the Women" shirt, which happened away from home, against São Paulo. The match ended 1 x 0 for the rival and, since then, all debuts have been scheduled for Itaquera, along with the good performance that Timão has as the home team.

With this, now, the overall record, counting since 2008, when Nike made the manufacture of third uniforms recurrent, Corinthians has launched 18 shirts, and in their debuts achieved seven victories, five draws and six defeats.
