Defence Force FC earned a 1-nil win over Juventus de Cayes on the opening matchweek thanks to a goal from Kevin Molino.

It will be the second-ever meeting between the two sides. The first meeting ended in a 1-1 draw in 2023. Reon Moore scored for Defence Force in that game while Shaniel Thomas found the net for the Jamaican side.

Historical Series

Cavalier FC and Defence Force will meet for the second time in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup, having drawn 1-1 in their previous encounter in 2023.

Their first meeting took place on August 24, 2023, on Matchday 1 of Group A at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain (TRI), resulting in a 1-1 draw. Reon Moore scored for Defence Force, while Shaniel Thomas found the net for the Jamaican side.

For Cavalier, this will be their 4th matchup against clubs from Trinidad & Tobago. In addition to the draw with Defence Force, they defeated Port of Spain 2-1 on August 31, 2023, with goals from Jalmaro Calvin and Christopher Ainsworth, while Karl Muckette scored for the Trinidadian side. Their most recent match against a T\&T club was a 4-1 win over Police FC, with goals from Shaquille Stein (2) and Dwayne Atkinson (2); Kevon Woodley scored the lone goal for Police FC.

For Defence Force, this will be their second match ever against a Jamaican club in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup, the first being the aforementioned 1-1 draw with Cavalier FC.

Defence Force last faced a Jamaican club in official competition back in the 2014 CFU Club Championship, when they defeated Harbour View 2-0 in Kingston on March 25 during Group 3 of the First Round, thanks to a brace from Devorn Jorsling.

How did Cavalier FC perform in Week 2?

Cavalier FC drew 1-1 with Juventus des Cayes in Group B and are now on a three-match winless streak in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup—the second such run in the club’s history. The previous streak occurred in 2023 when they played to a goalless draw in the semifinals against Harbour View and then lost both legs of the final to SV Robinhood (0-1 and 0-2).
