Unless something out of the ordinary occurs before deadline day, Ermedin Demirović is expected to remain at VfB Stuttgart. Sky Germany reports that his proposed switch to Galatasaray is off.
The 28-year-old feels settled in the team and strongly attached to the club and city. Public backing from head coach Sebastian Hoeneß also influenced his stance.
Stuttgart have been informed of his decision, despite holding talks with Galatasaray until the last minute.
The Istanbul side offered up to €20 million, including €2 million in bonuses, but the clubs could not reach a quick agreement.
Demirović wanted clarity over his future and has now made a final call, even after Dzenan Pejčinović arrived. The Bosnian believes in his qualities, shown over the past two years. He reportedly could have landed a three-year contract in Istanbul worth around €5 million per year.
