Dender have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Jordan Kadiri on a free. The 24-year-old forward has joined until the end of next season, with the side having an option to increase this by an extra year if they wish. Dender, who are defying expectations so far this season in the Pro League, had been looking to bring in another attacking option during the window. Given their lack of budget, is is unsurprising that they have gone for a player who is out of contract.
Kadiri is no stranger to Belgian football. In previous seasons he has spent time with both Lommel and Francs Borains. During his time in Lommel he played 41 games, scoring five goals and grabbing two assists. he also spent time in both Norway and Sweden with Strømsgodset and Östersund respectively. For the former, he had a great spell in 2021 where he scored four goals in just eight games. His spell with Östersund was a return to the side who he had left to join Lommel in 2020. During his first time with the club he had scored nine goals in 24 games.
During the 2023/2024 season he played for Francs Borains in the Belgian second tier and had a good return with 10 goals in 21 games. Over the summer he moved to Romania to play for UTA Arad, but after just two goals in 13 games he ended his contract with the side and returns to Belgium.
