Denis Zanko to join DTN and oversee BEPF training, Francis Gillot not retained | OneFootball

Denis Zanko will join the DTN to oversee BEPF training, with Francis Gillot not retained at the end of his deal. According to L'Équipe, the 62-year-old is changing the direction of his career.

Zanko has forged a strong reputation as a coach educator. He led Laval as head coach and has been an assistant at Bordeaux and Rennes.

He will replace Gillot, who was well regarded by BEPF graduates. The 66-year-old reached the end of his contract on 30 June.

Gillot was not renewed in the role by Laurent Chatrefoux, the new head of training who succeeded Franck Thivilier. Thivilier left for Saudi Arabia in the autumn.

Gillot previously worked at Lens, Sochaux and Bordeaux. Zanko also had a stint at Toulouse.
