Deniz Gul handed Türkiye number nine for 2026 World Cup | OneFootball

Deniz Gul will wear number nine for Türkiye at the 2026 World Cup, with the FC Porto forward allocated the traditional centre-forward shirt.

According to O Jogo, Türkiye have released squad numbers for the tournament and Gul has taken that jersey, which he had already worn in recent days.

Former Sporting player Merih Demiral has been given three, while former Benfica pair Kokçu and Akturkoglu take six and seven. Arda Guler has eight, Çalhanoglu 10 and Yildiz 11.

Türkiye beat North Macedonia in recent days with a goal from Deniz Gul. They face Venezuela on Sunday in their final warm-up before the tournament.

At the World Cup they are in Group D with Australia, United States and Paraguay.
