Deniz Undav delivered a standout performance for Germany on Sunday, scoring twice and providing an assist in a comfortable 4-0 friendly win over Finland, just two weeks before their World Cup opener against Curacao.
There was, however, a fly in the ointment for the Stuttgart striker, who picked up a knock while scoring his second goal and was forced off.
Then, around 25 minutes after being substituted, Undav returned from the dressing room in a tracksuit and rejoined the German bench.
Speaking after the game, the 29-year-old did not appear overly concerned that the injury would affect his World Cup prospects.
“I had a bit of pain, but nothing serious," Undav told ZDF in a post-match interview.
“Everything’s fine, a few days of treatment and then it will be okay,” added the striker, who rated the evening ”10 out of 10".
