Chelsea FC are on the lookout for a new central defender for the upcoming summer transfer window, and a Bayern star has now come into focus
Minjae Kim could leave FC Bayern next summer. He is apparently the focus of several top international clubs, with Chelsea FC in particular said to be looking closely at the South Korean international
As BILD head of soccer Christian Falk reports, the Londoners have already expressed their interest and are examining whether a transfer would be possible in the coming transfer window. Kim has recently had to take a back seat in the internal hierarchy behind Dayot Upamecano and new signing Jonathan Tah and is therefore considered a candidate to leave
In the current season, the central defender has started twelve times in the Bundesliga, plus five substitute appearances and six appearances in the UEFA Champions League. Despite his somewhat reduced role, Kim has delivered solid performances – and that is precisely what makes him so interesting for other clubs

In addition to Chelsea , the two traditional clubs from Milan are also said to be keeping a close eye on developments surrounding the defender. Tottenham Hotspur have also been repeatedly linked with the defender. However, the hottest trail leads to Chelsea
Injury concerns – including Levi Colwill – and uncertainty over the future of Axel Disasi could prompt the Blues to become active on the transfer market once again in the summer
However, there is no acute pressure to sell at FC Bayern itself. Kim still has a long-term contract in Munich until 2028 and, according to current information, feels comfortable in his role in the team. A transfer would therefore only be conceivable under certain conditions. Internally, a transfer fee of between 30 and 40 million euros is considered a possible basis for talks, should a concrete offer be received
The situation therefore remains calm for the time being – but the interest from England and Italy shows that if the transfer market picks up speed in the summer, Kim Minjae could suddenly become a central figure in the plans of several top European clubs again.
