With the winter transfer window approaching, teams up and down the EFL will all be planning intensely and scouring the market to see how they can improve their squads for the second portion of the season.

In the past, a strong showing in January has contributed greatly to success at the end of the season and with managers constantly asking for additions to their teams, a whole host of EFL outfits are looking to land a deal for Durosinmi.

Firepower is often one of the most sought-after attributes in any given transfer window and that is exactly the case in this scenario.

According to Football Insider, Hull City, Derby County, Oxford United and Huddersfield Town are all among a number of EFL clubs looking to sign Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi in January.

The 22-year-old has impressed this season for Czech side Viktoria Plzen, after coming back from a double anterior cruciate ligament injury in both knees, which left the forward sidelined for 15 months.

Durosinmi scored nine goals in 21 appearances this term and could be available for a reported fee of £5.7million, as he enters the final six months of his current contract. This fee, of course, would still represent a significant outlay for all four sides, and League One Huddersfield and Oxford with the Championship's lowest budget could be priced out of a potential deal.

Standing at six-foot-four, the Nigerian’s towering presence means that there is a strong physical element to his game as well.

German side Eintracht Frankfurt have previously shown interest in a move, whilst a switch to Belgian outfit Genk fell through due to injury.

Derby County could be best placed to secure Rafiu Durosinmi transfer

With a large number of EFL teams reportedly interested in signing the striker, Durosinmi’s choice may come down to who offers him the best opportunity of competing at the highest level.

Given that he has attracted top-flight interest from other countries, there is clearly a feeling within the game that he is ready to perform at the Championship level, which could rule Huddersfield out of the running.

Hull City are currently in the best position out of all the teams named, sitting fifth in the second-tier and just four points shy of second, but have a restriction placed upon them preventing paying transfer fees during the January window.

Therefore, Derby County could be best placed to secure a deal for Durosinmi. The Rams are two points shy of the play-offs after 15 matches and have shown their willingness to spend money during the summer window. There is, however, the caveat of Eustace already being able to call upon Carlton Morris and summer signing Patrick Agyemang, who have both impressed since moving to Pride Park and are highly unlikely to have neccesitated the need for another striker.
