Destiny Udogie to miss next month after picking up hamstring injury | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur will be without defender Destiny Udogie for about a month after picking up an injury in Saturday's 2-0 defeat away to Manchester United.

The 23-year-old had to be replaced ten minutes into the second half at Old Trafford with new arrival Souza taking his place.

Thomas Frank confirmed the news in his pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday evening's game at home to another side that is performing below expectations this season, Newcastle United.

"Unfortunately, Destiny has a hamstring injury and is out for the next four to five weeks," the Dane said, also confirming that besides the suspended Cristián Romero the rest of the squad from the weekend would be available.

Frank went on to talk about Romero's red card that left Spurs down to 10 men against United: "For me, I think he is a leader. He is a young leader. He's learning every day. I've said I used the example when I was 30 years old I thought I was on top of the world, but I was no way near the level I am today in terms of leadership and understanding things.

"And then when you have a player that's playing with so much passion and aggression, things like that can happen.

"That's not to say he shouldn't learn from it, of course he needs to learn from it, going forward."
