Details of Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel’s loan to Tottenham revealed | OneFootball

Sky Germany has revealed the details of Bayern Munich’s Mathy Tel who was sent on loan to Tottenham on deadline day.

Bayern are said to receive a €10m loan fee for Tel’s six-month stay in North London. On top of this, Tottenham will cover five months of Tel’s salary, which will be around €2m.

One of the big sticking points to the deal was whether there was a buy option or not. There is. The buy option is worth an initial €55m and can rise to €60m with bonus payments. However, the buy option is dependent on Tel. If the 19-year-old wishes to stay in London, then the option can be activated, if he wishes to return to Munich, he will return to Bayern.

Bayern had preferred an obligation to buy in the loan agreement but Tel requested that it would not be included.

Tel has struggled for game time this season and has not been used as much by Vincent Kompany as he had been by his predecessor Thomas Tuchel. The 19-year-old has played 14 games for Bayern this season with only one assist, on top of this most of his appearances have come off of the bench.
