This Thursday at 1pm, national coach Julian Nagelsmann will present his final squad for the 2026 World Cup at a major press conference. Some information has already leaked out over the last few days. The DFB then began to officially confirm the first names today
In doing so, the association followed the example of the nomination of the squad for the European Championship in Germany, where the players were presented in short videos over a longer period of time, some of which were announced by well-known personalities. At least the part with the short videos has been taken over
From FC Bayern’s point of view, the first names have also been confirmed. Joshua Kimmich, the team captain, will unsurprisingly be traveling to North America. He was the first player to be confirmed
The announcements were made bit by bit, with new players being added time and again, including Deniz Undav from VfB Stuttgart. A little later, Jamal Musiala’s nomination was also confirmed. The FC Bayern attacking player is therefore also certain to travel to the World Cup

Musiala has slowly got back into his stride over the course of the season following his serious leg injury, scoring a number of goals and also improving physically in recent weeks. It is therefore logical for him to be nominated, especially as Serge Gnabry is unable to play in the tournament due to injury
Whether Musiala will be in top form right from the start remains to be seen, but it is also possible to build him up in the first few games and then increase his workload. In any case, the national coach is confident that the dribbling artist will be able to bring his qualities to bear. Other Bayern stars, including Jonathan Tah and Aleksandar Pavlovic, will be nominated later today.
