DFL confirms venue for Franz Beckenbauer Supercup | OneFootball

The Deutsche Fußball Liga DFL announced the venue and kick-off time for the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup 2026 between FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday. The clash between double winners Bayern and Bundesliga runners-up Dortmund will be held on 22 August at 20:30 CEST at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.

The Supercup was renamed by the DFL and DFB in honour of FCB legend Franz Beckenbauer, who died in January 2024. The Franz Beckenbauer Supercup normally pits the defending Bundesliga champions and DFB Cup winners against each other. However, because Bayern claimed the domestic double this season, their opponents will be runners-up BVB for the first time since 2021.

Tenth Supercup encounter

Overall this will be the tenth showdown between the two sides in the competition. Bayern have come out on top five times to date, with the Black and Yellows triumphing on four occasions. With 11 and six titles respectively, FCB and Dortmund are also the two most successful teams in Supercup history.

As a result, Bayern and BVB will play their DFB Cup first-round fixtures, which are also due to be played on the weekend of 21 to 24 August, on 1 and 2 September.
