Michele Di Gregorio is desperately trying to calm the waters after his agent’s vicious attack on Juventus. ‘I have great admiration and respect for my teammates.’

The shot-stopper has been put on the market this summer and the club is seeking at least one replacement, potentially two if Mattia Perin also leaves.

His agent lashed out angrily at the Bianconeri directors on Instagram Stories, accusing them of “shifting the blame” onto Di Gregorio for their own failures on the transfer market.

Above all, Carlo Alberto Belloni bitterly criticised the strikers signed by Juventus, calling them “terrible” despite the cost of €130m.

Although not named, the strikers bought last year were Jonathan David, Lois Openda and Edon Zhegrova.

“Following the statements made by my agent, I wish to clarify my position on the matter,” wrote Di Gregorio on his own Instagram Stories.

“Even if it is my agent and my agency, who I have a great rapport with and worked with since the start of my career, I distance myself from what was said about my teammates, for whom I have great admiration and respect, as shown both on and off the field.”

It remains to be seen if this will help calm the situation, seeing as Di Gregorio and Juventus directors would appear to be at loggerheads.

Notably, the goalkeeper only distanced himself from the insults towards the strikers and said nothing about the criticism of directors and coaches.
