Joao Felix has emerged as a transfer target for AC Milan, and with a move for Marcus Rashford stalling, the Chelsea forward could move to Italy.
For most of the January mercato, the talk about Milan signing a forward has been regarding Rashford, who has effectively been given the green light to leave Manchester United this window. However, with that deal not progressing, the Rossoneri are looking to other options.
The management travelled to Dusseldorf on Thursday to discuss the possibility of Giovanni Reyna joining the club, but there have also been internal talks about Joao Felix and today, the first contacts were made.
Gianluca Di Marzio (via AC_MilanFR on X) has reported that the Rossoneri have begun contact with Chelsea over the Portuguese talent today. However, they have hit an initial roadblock in negotiations – the Blues are unwilling to discuss a loan deal, at least for now.
Whether this is a loan full stop, or solely a dry loan remains to be seen. However, it is unlikely that the club would be able to fork out for a permanent transfer, especially considering Felix arrived in London for more than €50 million in the summer.
With two weeks to go until the deadline, the Diavolo must assess the situation, and if there are no signs of change, they must move on.
