Didier Deschamps meets Macron for private Élysée dinner after England defeat | OneFootball

Didier Deschamps attended a discreet dinner with President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée on Sunday following France’s 4-6 loss to England in the third-place final in Miami.

According to L'Équipe, the outgoing France manager was joined by his wife, assistant Guy Stéphan and Stéphan’s wife for a small-group debrief.

Deschamps accepted the invitation as he nears the end of 14 years in charge.

The gathering was kept out of the public eye in a small setting.

In the coming days he will be replaced by Zinédine Zidane, whose appointment is expected to be confirmed next week.
