Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has this weekend provided an insight into the goals of he and the club for the 2025/26 campaign.

This, of course, comes fresh off another largely underwhelming season for Atléti last time out.

The Rojiblancos showcased excellence in patches, culminating in what at one point looked like a concerted La Liga title challenge.

But in the end, the capital outfit fell away when it mattered most, giving rise to another 3rd-placed finish, as well as an exit from the Champions League in the Round-of-16.

And fully aware that as much simply won’t cut it when it comes to the expectations of the Atlético faithful is headmaster Diego Simeone.

Speaking during an interview with SIMPLEMENTE FÚTBOL, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, this weekend, the Argentine tactician was drawn on his side’s ambitions for next season and beyond.

And Simeone was not shy in confirming:

“There’s a clear intention to be title contenders again. That’s why I’m here. That’s why I’m staying. I want more at this club.”
