Dieguinho shines as Corinthians fans slam 2-1 defeat at Mirassol | OneFootball

Corinthians fell 2-1 to Mirassol at the Maião in the 14th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, and supporter ratings were largely scathing, with only Dieguinho spared.

According to Meu Timao, among the 15 players used, Dieguinho topped the poll with an average 5.6 from 1,059 votes and was named player of the match. The attacking midfielder came on after 29 minutes of the second half with Mirassol 2-0 ahead and pulled one back.

Goalkeeper Hugo Souza scored 3.4 from 1,064 votes, with Kaio César next on 3.1. Alex Santana registered 2.7, Jesse Lingard 2.5 and Rodrigo Garro 2.3.

Raniele, Gabriel Paulista and Matheus Bidu each received 2.2. Zakaria Labyad was given 2.1, Yuri Alberto 2.0, Breno Bidon 1.7 and Pedro Raul 1.5. Coach Fernando Diniz was rated 2.3 from 1,040, while André Ramalho and Allan had 0.9 and Matheus Pereira was lowest on 0.7 from 1,069.

Referee Matheus Delgado Candançan was heavily criticised, scoring 0.2 from 1,031 votes. He sent off Edson Carioca early before overturning it via VAR, awarded a disputed penalty and did not give a foul on Rodrigo Garro in the move for Mirassol’s second.

The defeat leaves Corinthians on 15 points from 14 games, three places lower in 17th and back in the relegation zone.

Timão now switch focus to the Libertadores, visiting Independiente Santa Fe of Colombia at Estádio El Campín on Wednesday at 21:30 in the fourth round of Group E.
