Vasco lost 2-1 to Corinthians at the Maracanã on Sunday, finishing runners-up in the Copa do Brasil. After the match, Diniz comforted his son Diego outside the stadium.

According to Globo.com, the coach completed his post-match press conference, then said goodbye to staff at the Maracanã.

He met Diego in the stadium car park.

Diego was visibly emotional, crying on his father’s shoulder as Fernando Diniz held him.

Other family members were waiting in a van set to take Diniz away.
