Fernando Diniz has backed Kaio César and set out how Corinthians plan to sharpen the winger’s decision-making as he adjusts to the club’s intense demands.
According to Meu Timao, the 22-year-old made his sixth consecutive start against Rosario Central amid fan scrutiny over his choices in the final third, in the match that confirmed progress to the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals.
Diniz said there is no single cause behind improvement, adding that Kaio is steadily consolidating his place. He noted the player left Brazil early, featured for Coritiba, played in Portugal and in Arab football, and is adapting to the pressure of a huge crowd and frequent decisive games.
The coach outlined a daily programme at CT Joaquim Grava, combining tailored tactical guidance, video analysis, training and dialogue. He described the forward as continually evolving and already contributing since his arrival.
Announced at the end of January, Kaio joined on a season-long loan from Al-Hilal. If Corinthians opt to buy 50% of his rights, the fee is 6 million euros, about R$ 34.14 million, according to ge.globo. He has publicly expressed a wish to remain at Parque São Jorge, and the club pays his full wages during the loan.
Qualification brought 1.7 million dollars, nearly R$ 9 million, in prize money. Corinthians will face Estudiantes in the last eight, opening at Estadio Jorge Luis Hirschi and closing at Neo Química Arena due to their superior previous-phase campaign. Before that, they visit Coritiba on Sunday at 19:30 at Couto Pereira in the 24th round of the Brasileiro.
