Corinthians and Palmeiras have announced their lineups for this Sunday’s derby in the 11th round of the Brazilian Championship. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. (Brasília time) at Neo Química Arena in São Paulo (SP).

Corinthians lineup

For the derby, head coach Fernando Diniz repeated the lineup from the team that beat Platense in their Copa Libertadores opener last Thursday.

Corinthians regained confidence after ending a nine-match winless streak last Thursday. In Diniz’s debut, Timão beat Platense-ARG 2-0 away from home and got off to a winning start in the Libertadores. In the Brazilian Championship, however, the team has gone seven rounds without a win. At the moment, it sits in 16th place with just 10 points, two more than Chapecoense, which currently opens the relegation zone.

On the other side, Palmeiras are in a calm moment. Verdão are coming off a 1-1 draw away to Junior Barranquilla-COL in their Copa Libertadores opener and stretched their unbeaten run to six matches. In the Brazilian Championship, they are the outright leaders with 25 points, five more than second-place São Paulo.
