Corinthians completed preparations on Wednesday for the Copa do Brasil round of 16 return against Internacional, at 20:00 Brasília time at Neo Química Arena on Thursday. Fernando Diniz has trialled Pedro Raul to lead the attack.
According to Globo.com, the centre-forward was used as the focal point across two sessions after the 2-0 first-leg defeat and is likely to start.
At Beira-Rio, Gui Negão made his first start under Diniz and struggled. Jesse Lingard could also be used up front, as he did in the 0-0 draw with Athletico-PR.
Corinthians are without Yuri Alberto after a right thigh muscle injury against Athletico. Zakaria Labyad has a left meniscus injury and ruptured ACL, while Vitinho has had left knee meniscus surgery and Kayke is recovering from left ACL surgery. Memphis Depay, close to signing a new deal, is not available.
Probable XI: Hugo Souza, Matheuzinho, Gabriel Paulista, Gustavo Henrique, Matheus Bidu, Raniele, André, Breno Bidon, Rodrigo Garro, Kaio César and Pedro Raul.
Trailing 2-0 from the first leg, Corinthians must win by two goals to take it to penalties, or by three or more to reach the quarter-finals.
Wednesday’s final session at CT Joaquim Grava began with a tactical video, then gym work and a warm-up. On the pitch, Diniz ran two tactical drills, plus set pieces and penalty practice, and midfielder Alex Santana started his physical transition after a knee knock.
