Diogo Jota has been inducted into the Wolves Hall of Fame at a museum ceremony in Wolverhampton, honouring the forward’s achievements in gold and black after his death last July.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the independent Hall of Fame committee, which includes legendary striker John Richards, moved quickly after his passing and unanimously agreed to add him.
This week, Richards and fellow committee members formalised the honour inside the Wolves Museum, with the club’s vice-chairman hanging Jota’s portrait in the gallery of inductees.
Richards said they were proud to recognise Jota on behalf of the club and supporters, calling the choice heartbreaking but straightforward. He said they acted swiftly amid the outpouring of grief and love, and hoped the tribute offers some comfort to family and friends while ensuring he is remembered at Molineux.
Jota’s portrait now sits alongside club greats, and the museum is housing a dedicated memorial of shirts, scarves and messages left by supporters. Items from the original tribute were preserved and used to create a permanent display.
Richards added that Jota made a major impact across three seasons, the fans quickly took to him, and he later showed his quality at Liverpool. He said the admiration reflects not only his football but also his character, describing him as sociable, charming, polite and eager to help.
