Diogo Jota’s children ‘to walk out’ at Anfield before Liverpool v Wolverhampton | OneFootball

Dinis and Duarte, the children of Diogo Jota, are expected to walk out at Anfield nearly six months on from his death. The Times reports that it would come before Liverpool face Wolverhampton in the Premier League on Saturday at 16:00.

They would accompany the mascots ahead of kick-off, in what is set to be a moving tribute. The fixture brings together the two clubs their father represented.

It will be the first meeting between the sides since the Portugal international died in a car accident in north-west Spain in July, while travelling to Liverpool for pre-season. His brother, André Silva, also died.

The tragedy came only days after the 28-year-old married his long-time partner.

Liverpool later retired Jota’s number 20 shirt to preserve his legacy at the club.
