Diogo Sousa signs for Strasbourg until 2031 after Guimaraes move | OneFootball

Strasbourg have signed 20-year-old midfielder Diogo Sousa from Vitoria Guimaraes on a five-year deal running to 2031.

According to L'Équipe, the fee is about €10m, and he becomes their second arrival after goalkeeper Milosz Piekutowski.

The youth international bolsters a midfield that could be trimmed, with Valentin Barco expected to leave and the option to buy Benfica loanee Rafael Luis not expected to be exercised.

Sousa made 28 appearances in all competitions last season, including 22 in the top flight with one goal, in his first senior campaign. He also lifted the League Cup.

He joins amid wider change at the club after head coach Gary O'Neil left for Ipswich, with his successor yet to be confirmed.
