According to Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest’s summer window is beginning to move, with Ousmane Diomande, Xaver Schlager and Lucas Bergvall among priorities.

The £116 million sale of Elliot Anderson to Manchester City is the standout deal so far. No arrivals have come in yet, though that could change as Oliver Glasner shapes plans after his first week in charge.

Glasner said recruitment talks focus on profiles the formation lacks and, if the right options make sense, they will try to complete them. Before flying to Portugal on Monday for a 12-day camp, he expected one or two additions to join the group.

Free agent midfielder Schlager is likely to be first, with an initial two-year contract on the cards. The 28-year-old Austrian worked with Glasner at Wolfsburg and has been likened to Bastian Schweinsteiger for his front-foot, combative style.

Forest also want more in midfield, with Tottenham’s Bergvall still a target after a bid of about £38m was rejected. With a back three preferred, a centre-back is sought and Sporting Lisbon’s Diomande is the focus.

Forest kept clean sheets against Notts County and Blackburn Rovers in early friendlies, including a 3-0 win over Rovers in Portugal. Despite conceding little, Glasner says the defence remains the main area for improvement.

Diomande is 22 and has 16 caps for Ivory Coast alongside Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare. He joined Sporting two years ago and could operate on the right of the rearguard if a deal is struck.
