Disney+ will show the men’s Champions League in several European markets from 2027, extending its football push through 2031. It already holds the women’s competition in Europe until 2030.
According to L'Équipe, the streamer has secured rights in multiple territories, including Sweden, for 2027-2031. It did not overtake Canal+ in Belgium or Poland despite earlier suggestions it would.
In France, Canal+ kept the entire Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League package for the four-year cycle.
Another tender this week covered 19 markets, namely Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Central America, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, South America, Sweden and Switzerland.
In the UK and Germany, Paramount+ acquired rights from 2027 in November, with one game on Prime Video. In Italy, Sky Sport remains the broadcaster, while in Spain, Movistar+ retained all Champions League rights. UEFA expects the total value of its TV deals to surpass five billion euros per year once tenders conclude.
