Polls are now open to choose the Bundesliga Team of the Season, presented by EA SPORTS, with fan votes carrying the biggest weight.

Which players have stood out in the 2025/26 season so far? Based on official Bundesliga match data, a total of 40 candidates have been named on the Team of the Season shortlist. Among their number is Eintracht’s very own Ritsu Doan.

Doan among the nominees 

The 27-year-old Japanese attacker has featured in 28 of the Eagles’ 29 Bundesliga fixtures to date this term, only missing the recent game against Wolfsburg due to illness. Doan has registered four goals and five assists this season, and has won more duels than any other Eintracht player. 

The panel that decides on the final 11 is split into three groups, just like the monthly “Player of the Month” and “Rookie of the Month” awards. Fans play a particularly important role, with their votes counting for 40 percent of the final tally. The votes of the team captains of the 18 Bundesliga clubs make up 30 percent, while an expert panel comprising Bundesliga legends and selected media partners account for the remaining 30 percent.
