Nottingham Forest will lock horns with Porto at the Estadio do Drago this Thursday night as they look to secure a good result in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League quarterfinal clash. The Midlands club managed to earn an impressive 3-0 win away at Tottenham Hotspur before the international break, so they would be full of confidence going into this game.

Nuno Espirito Santo will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his first XI for this clash. Nicolas Dominguez, Luca Netz and Dan Ndoye could all play from the start of this game.

Defence

Matz Sels will feature in between the sticks for Nottingham after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Nikola Milenkovic will function alongside Murillo at the heart of Nuno Espirito Santo’s backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

Nico Williams will fill in as the right-back, while Luca Netz hopes to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Morato will offer cover for the centre-back positions on the bench.

Midfield

Ibrahim Sangare and Nicolas Dominguez will anchor the midfield for the Midlands club as they try to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park.

The talented trio of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Morgan Gibbs-White and Dan Ndoye will play just ahead of them as part of the Nottingham attack. All three of them need to be at their best if Nottingham are to secure a positive result in midweek.

Ryan Yates will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if needed. However, Elliot Anderson is suspended for this game.

Attack

Igor Jesus will lead the line for Nottingham up top. He has to find a way to be a real menace on the offensive end of the pitch.

Taiwo Awoniyi will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Nottingham are in need of a goal by then.
