Dominique Heintz signs for Fortuna Düsseldorf after 1. FC Köln exit | OneFootball

Fortuna Düsseldorf have confirmed the signing of Dominique Heintz on a free after his 1. FC Köln contract expired, in their bid to get out of the third division next season.

Sporting director Samir Arabi said the 32-year-old was eager for the challenge at Fortuna, and highlighted his strength in duels and in the air, along with playmaking ability and leadership.

Heintz has agreed a deal until 2028 and will wear the number three shirt in the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Across his career he has made 220 Bundesliga appearances and a further 91 in the 2. Bundesliga.

He has previously represented 1. FC Kaiserslautern, 1. FC Köln, SC Freiburg, Union Berlin and VfL Bochum.
